E-Force Marine and Eight Knot Partner to Launch AI CAPTAIN for Safer Boating in North America

E-Force Marine, a pioneer in marine electrification based in Miami, FL, is proud to announce its strategic agreement with Eight Knot Inc. to promote a pilot program introducing Eight Knot AI CAPTAIN, an advanced autonomous navigation system tailored for the recreational boating industry in North America.

Operator inattention and inexperience are among the leading causes of boating accidents in the U.S., often resulting in collisions, groundings, and other preventable incidents. This partnership aim to test and verify the functionality for our area and discover ways to market AI CAPTAIN; a smart, onboard co-pilot system that enhances situational awareness and supports safer navigation, particularly in congested or complex waters.

Starting December 2025, they will host test rides for its employees and customers to gather feedback and identify key requirements for autonomous navigation solutions tailored to the U.S. market. Joint engineering teams will oversee hardware installation, system calibration, data acquisition, and user interface validation. 

Beyond safety, the AI CAPTAIN system will learn a boater’s habits, understand vessel-specific behaviors, and assist with trip planning. Future capabilities will include autonomous docking, route optimization, and even full autonomous cruising.

With the integration of AI CAPTAIN, the Aurora e30 by E-Force Marine, award winning Miami's electric catamaran, will become one of the safest and most user-friendly boats on the market, combining innovation, zero-emission technology, and intelligent navigation in one streamlined solution.
